Apron Swap

I'm SO excited!!! This past spring I watched an Apron Swap go on via Cynthia's page. I was really jealous, lol. So, when I seen the Summer swap sign up's were open I decided what the heck, I'll give it a try. Now, there is no guarantee of what my attempt of an apron will look like (Lord, please let it be good) but I'm goin' in full force. I just thank heavens that if for some reason my apron doesn't turn out it is stated in the rules that I can BUY a HANDMADE apron to swap with. I'll keep you updated as this adventure unfolds!! ;)

I know it's been a little while since I've posted, but I caught this picture this evening and just HAD to share it!! My poor little piggy gets as much of her milk on her as she does in her. It's really too cute, or is that just cause I'm her mommy, lol?? Time is flying by so quickly. Doesn't seem like she could possibly be a month old already. I feel so increadibly blessed to have this little blessing and I thank God for her ;)

I would like to introduce....

Carlee Jo Priest

I'd like to introduce the newest addition to our family. Carlee Jo Priest was born February 5, 2008 at 11:36 am. She was 5 lbs 9 ozs and 18 inches long. We had a little bit of a ruff start, but we are doing well now. I went into the hospital on Sunday night for induction only to end up laying there untill Tuesday when it was finally decided I needed a C-Section. (reckon???) I really didn't want to have the C-Section, however, by the time Tuesday rolled around I was ready. Once the decision was made it was only a matter of time before Shawn and I heard the sweetest sound the Lord has ever made.....her cry. It was later that evening when the nursery discovered that Carlee's blood sugar was low. A newborns level is suppost to be over 40 and hers was 25. They put her in the NICU and started a sugar water IV. It took a couple days, but her level finally came up and her IV was FINALLY took out. THEN...little miss lazy starts having some trouble breathing. She was breathing so shallow that her oxygen levels were dropping, however, she overcome that as well. And as I said before, she is doing much better now. She is growing like a little weed. As of yesterday she weighed 6 lbs 2 ozs and has grown and inch and 3/8ths!! Well, below I've included a couple other pictures and I'll do my best to get more of her up in a timely manner. (if that's possible ;) )

Well, finally, my little girl has a place to lay her head. I am so excited about getting her bed up that I just had to share a couple pictures. I'm 37 weeks today and I'm very ready for her to make her appearance. I go to the OB today, so I'll let ya know what he says.....

My Baby Shower

And it begins....I have given in and am going to start my own page. This will be my first post and I am learning as I go, so if anyone has any tips, they'd be much appriciated!!!

Yesterday my best friend, Missy, gave me a baby shower for my first child. Well, my first born child. We had alot of fun and I really felt loved from all my friends and family. Here's a little bit about it.

We had some yummy, yummy food such a pasta salad, vetetable tray, pinwheel sandwiches, chips and dip, a chocolate fountain with fruit, homemade mints and a wonderful cake!!!

I got lots of wonderful presents. Below are some of them.

This is from my Aunt Jeanette and Uncle David.
They got us some much needed sleepers, onsies,
socks and disposable washcloths.

This is an afghan that Shawns mom made many years ago. It will be greatly treasured as neither Carlee nor myself ever got to meet her.

This is a willow tree figurine called New Life that my sister-in-law, Bridget, got for me. I love it!!

This is the blanket that Nannie, aka my mom, got for me to bring Carlee home with. It says "A gift from Heaven" which is exactly what she is.

And I couldn't finish this post without including the woman who made the whole shower possible. Missy and Abby, aren't they the sweetest thing ever??
